The Invasion

Just FYI - the invasions by Barbarian tribes led to the collapse of the Roman Empire. The territories fell into dark ages for centuries, All the achievements in architecture, math, poetry, and public speaking were abundant and were not resurrected till the Renaissance. It shows us that cultural regression (unfortunately) is a part of the process. The birth of reality TV in the early 2000s led society to maybe, not that dramatic, but to pretty deep cultural regression as well. Fortunately, it didn't last very long but it left us with its biggest phenomenon - the Kardashians. The damage here will be difficult to reverse. The family is super active, there are a lot of them and our children are picking up their lifestyle tips: education is optional, fillers and Botox are essential, scandals are the style of everyday life and you don't need more than a bra and tiny shorts to go outside. Even those who despised this 10 years ago (Anna Wintour) are joining the club because this is where the money is. And she is not alone. Many brands are looking for opportunities to connect to those "photoshopped" objects.

Acne Studios just announced Kylie Jenner to star in its New Denim Campaign. I am sure, there is a carefully crafted explanation/press release highlighting how perfectly Ms. Jenner fits the brand's identity.

No, she doesn't, and I am just curious: Would any Acne Studio executives would like their own children to look and act like this family?

Acne is dead for me. Of course, Acne couldn't care less what I think, but maybe a few more people would share my thoughts. Revolution always starts small.
